The Reception Test

How does someone behave when they think no one is watching? Jombay, a talent assessment and analytics platform has developed a way to find out. They place a variety books and magazines in the reception area and observe the prospective employees’ conduct to gauge their personality and cultural fit with the company.

The ‘Take-from-Home’ Test

The mobile payments company Paytm has a coding competition that can be taken from home, so that engineering students from rural and remote areas have equal chance to apply for the job. Implemented at the end of 2013, this process removes the need for test centers.

The Direct Experience Test

Paytm came up with the idea of letting prospective employees work in their office for a few days to test how they’d get along with the teams already in place. The genesis of this practice is when a few entrepreneurial minded candidates asked to work at the office for a few days to see what it was like. The management liked the idea so much that it decided to do this for all potential hires.
