A position for a SCC/India Tax Compliance Manager has arisen. This person will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate Tax Compliance for India from both a US GAAP as well as local tax compliance perspective as well as being responsible for the continued set up of the International SSC Tax Compliance Center based in Bangalore. The SSC/India Tax Compliance Manager will report to the International Tax Compliance Director.
Cisco has affiliates in over 70 countries and continues to grow. Cisco's revenue is roughly 50% from outside the United States. Cisco's international operations are significant, and the International Tax Solutions & Process Optimization team has an important role in supporting such operations and the company's fiduciary responsibilities.
The position will be located in Bangalore, India.
The International Tax Solutions & Process Optimization Team is responsible for managing Cisco's non-US direct and indirect tax compliance, reporting, tax process optimization and other related activities. This includes effectively managing outsourced compliance, developing world class international tax provision and reporting solutions, and working effectively with internal tax/finance/accounting colleagues on end-to-end processes. This Team is also responsible for identifying and implementing other operational effectiveness processes and solutions.
The SSC/India Tax Compliance Manager will be responsible, together with his/her team for the Indian tax compliance, audit, reporting and related fiduciary and regulatory responsibilities as well as further developing the International Tax Compliance SSC.
Key responsibilities and attributes will include
Manage the direct and indirect tax compliance for India both local and US GAAP tax compliance
Co-ordinate the tax compliance aspects for the acquired and to be liquidated entities
Manage the India direct and indirect tax audits
Further develop the SSC for tax compliance work out of India for International
Be a pro-active team player within the International Tax Solutions and Process Optimization team as well with the other Tax teams across the world;
Effectively partner across the Regions with the other functions and businesses
Be a catalyst for change by identifying and driving process, partnership and operational effectiveness opportunities within an international or global framework; and
Have a flexible attitude as the team further expands and takes on additional roles and responsibilities.
Education
A degree in tax or accounting in which tax was a key component or the equivalent formal education is required.
Skills
This position requires an individual with successful career experience of a minimum of 7
years in corporate taxation and/or related tax accounting. Ideally, the primary experience should be with a US multinational corporation, in an internal or external (large accounting or law firm) position.
This position requires expertise in Indian Tax Compliance requirements. It also requires expertise in general international tax compliance and audit, including tax technical and process expertise.
The ideal candidate will have strong cross-functional and business partnership skills and who is both able to lead a team through change as well as being comfortable him/herself with change. It also requires strong project management, organizational and execution skills.
The applicant must be prepared to do some traveling both within India and across the globe. Approximately 5% travel is required.
