Over Two Crore Vacancies to Be Filled in Government Organisations Soon

Chennai: There were over two crore vacancies across many government organisations ranging from the bank sector to the CBI, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, V Narayanasamy, said here today.



These vacancies were in different sectors and would be filled soon, he said, inaugurating the 'Question Bank Workshop on English Language and Comprehension' organised by the Staff Selection Commission's Southern Regional Office here.



Observing that over 55 percent of the total number of applications from candidates were made online, he said, "We are taking steps to slowly make it happen online. We are taking steps to put the key for answers for the exam on the website."



The Ministry was also taking steps to go for the trilingual model for conducting exams in the SSC. "Apart from English and Hindi, we are also including a regional language in the question paper, so that we get talent from rural areas in all states."



"We are encouraging regional languages. We want question papers in regional languages, for regional sentiments are involved... we allow some papers in IAS, IPS to be written in regional languages. So, why not we have it here. In principle, we have agreed. So, candidates from rural areas will also have an advantage," he said.



Replying to a query, he said over one lakh vacancies would be filled through the SSC in the coming year.
