Bangalore: Eventhough BPOs exist to be a happy place for many of the youngsters as they get lot of opportunities in this sector, there are many who think that it is the job sector where we can’t expect any job growth even if we get a job in this sector. In spite of all these thoughts, BPO jobs at present are the hotspot destinations for many of the college grads who have just now finished their college life.  These jobs stand at the top because, it creates more jobs for people who don’t have any sought of experience.

So, how good is to be a BPO worker?

Yes, in one of the article published in rediff website reported a BPO worker telling that the workers in the BPO sector would be handling more than 200 calls per day, which means they are suppose to handle lot of stress everyday as they won’t be able to take long minutes of break after every call. More than anything else, whoever works in the BPO sector also need to follow the shift timings like as the morning shift, night shifts etc whenever needed and again because of that you won’t get a permanent timings for your job.

1: BPO is like a hotel where one stays for few days and nights and ultimtely quits.Has anyone notice the condition in India of BPO. First, there is no employee union, where the management can hear the employee grief, secondly, the management are in better advantage to exploit the employees who are the assets for the co. and these people make life hell.
When an employee fights for his right, these people, are bureacrats, who rule the BPO, are always on the verge of finding excuse to fire them.
The money they mint are in dollars and pounds and the payment to our Indian brothers and sisters are paid less, not to mention the pressure these people give.If we are going to compare the package, it does not come even one fourth of what is paid to the same employee, in the same process abroad in their land to us.
Very little is done, when is ill at work or home. At work people are given very little option of taking rest.Is this humanity.
When it comes to wages, they are in better advantage to cut the salary and specially incentive.
One thing is for sure, if you have to survive in this industry, become a slave.Doesnt matter even if the company policy states, it is wrong but in practical, it is just the opposite.
There are rulers in this industry, who wants to rule human in need for job. When the time comes, pack up and go home with no future. So you are neither here or there, in the midst of ocean, where is there is no survival.
Company policy is there to be read but in fact not enforced.

4: i feel the same...BPO's can be considered as most emerging sector but yet this is the most depressing and stressful one. I worked for the same sector just to get some part time earning, but the resources was misued. We had a 9hours shift, and we got a break of 1 hour( 30+30 minutes). Salary was also not that good. I left it just after 2 months. But this sector can be useful for some people having financial problem as they can manage their living with this. still the post above was relevant. I support this.

5: Most BPOs who have sprung up overnight & selling Insurance, property & Loans are great SWEAT SHOPS & the Govt has not been doing nothing about this, Sexual exploitation, long working hours, lack of training & recreaction, Poor Hygiene are some of the GOOD points of a BPO company. The best part of it is,(yes i mean it) the employees are paid Very low salaries which is not even the bare Minimum wages prescribed by the State Govt, & some times salaries are paid after 2-3 months of client billing. The Labour officers, PF, ESI & DLCs are paid off to over look such ommissions & who does not love money esp we INDIANS there is no ethics & values here @ BPO or call centers, money counts & Big Named companies openly allocate funds for telecalling/marketing with out doing any CAP on the working conditions for these poor educated expolited work force from states like U.P,Bihar, Assam, chennai Uttharakhand, Jharkhand sikkim, Nepal, orissa, manipur, etc.

The law does not apply to the rich & powerful, but jhuggi rickshaw puller or a person staying in a chawl is crucified by the media & is Hung for offences, which would have been meager. Who cares ! we must close down all unregistered call centers for resent their explotiations guys there are better career options & Job opportunities one must inculcate the law of attraction(meaning what one visualises & follows is what one gets). Follow ur dreams.

I fully agree with you moreover added to the monetary losses to employees are the non monetary losses like deteriorating health due to long working hours specially during late night or very early morning hours.
So what started as an earnest attempt to solve unemployment problem and revive the economy and to make India a competitive economy has failed since the price being paid is not worth the intention . today India has become the diabetic capital and soon we will become the cancer capital even people as young as 22 are having type -2 diabaties plus looking at the economic state of the India and the whole world it seems that we are living in a buble economy I dream of a day when I will work in India for an foreign MNC company which works for Indians and still pays me well without compromising on night time sleep or without missing my family or sacrificing my culture or tradition.
