Bangalore: Presence of numerous multinational companies in the market, demands you to work with people from different borders. To stand out in this tough economic time and in the competitive corporate world, you have to learn dealing with different work culture in most developed and developing economies.

Sayantani Kar and Preeti Khicha of Business Standard says about what it differs Indian work culture from the rest of the world by interviewing people like Dr Pawan Goenka, Ravi Uppal and Shashank Sinha from different economic zones like U.S., Europe and China.

Dr. Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors, Mahindra and Mahindra, mentioned that where Indians are obsessed to work for 10 hours, it is an exception to the rule in U.S.  Also workplace relationship is highly hierarchical and very formal in India which is not so in U.S. A relaxed attitude and open culture are valued in Indian work culture. Considering the business meetings, Indians appreciate equally participated business events, while in U.S., CEOs often talk on behalf of others in his company.
