20 Most Searched Universities on the Internet
Bangalore: Interestingly, MIT took the top position in the list of 25 most buzzed universities on the internet after beating the world’s most prestigious Harvard University. This was brought into limelight by the Global Language Monitor‘s TrendTopper MediaBuzz rankings, which evaluated the brand equity of 210 universities and 200 colleges, with the usage of data from the social media, the blogosphere, and more than 175,000 print and electronic media outlets.
According to Mashable Social Media,the evaluation of the universities that is conducted every five months, for the first time found that a technological institution has taken the first position in the rankings. MIT managed to rank first, with the announcement of the OpenCourseWare program which grants students from across the world to take advantage of MIT course offerings and earn certificates, free of cost.

20. New York University: Based in the New York City area, the New York University is a private, nonsectarian research university, located in the neighborhood of Greenwich Village in Manhattan.
